New Leaf was founded in August 2022 by Arizona State University honors students looking to address the environmental, health, and sustainability consequences of paper production today. Our objective is to find sourcing alternatives to contribute to the preservation of our natural environment.
Why Paper?
Sustainable paper, specifically used in packaging, is currently a growing, global industry. Trends such as consumer awareness and governmental regulations are driving the industry towards further growth, as paper is a common replacement for single use plastics.
Through marketing and sourcing analysis, we determined the best avenue to meet demand, be responsive, and produce a profit with competitive pricing is to be a supplier outsourcing agricultural waste from domestic forest foliage. Our research shows source is attainable, impactful, and scalable.
